About Us

We are the Dugan's from Leonardville. We farm, collect antique tractors, E-Bay tractor parts, watching our girls grow like broadleaf weeds without 2-4-d ever having been applied. Our summers are filled with softball, tractor shows, tractor auctions - do you see a theme - We Are BUSY! I try to update as much as I can but there are just sometimes -well - I am busy. Welcome to a little glimpse of our world.

Harvest is.....

Not Done. We keep having major break downs, major moving problems and someone broke "his" phone so no contact makes for interesting evenings.

In addition to all of that my allergies have turned into a full blown, eyeballs wanting to pop out of my head sinus infection - but I keep trucking on daily through work. Today tho- I am breaking down and going to get drugs. Pictures coming soon I hope of Harvest.

Has Anybody

ever done geneology of their family. We are trying to find out if we have any kind of Indian blood in our family history. We are running into lots of road blocks and trying piece together family when you don't have birth and death dates and names and places of birth and death. Yowza. Wouldn't a blood test be easier?

On a sad note - Izzy and Brian are taking a separation from each other. She is having a hard time but she has an amazing group of friends and I am hoping they help her through this time.

New Hair Whoop de doo

We - her daddy and I - decided it was time for a new do for the dawling little one. So we went from wild and bizarre to cute and Nancy Grace. As stated as we are leaving the hair salon "I love my new hair and I look like Nancy Grace - But I ain't wearing no ding dang dresses - EVER!" An hour and a half later - I hear - "I hate my new hair." Well isn't that nice Pedro.

Dunno

Went to Dr yesterday- decided I am either overmedicated or there is something terribly wrong. Took me off of my motion sickness patch and they said the withdrawl can be as bad as before I had it.

Yesterday when I was going through some testing with my fingers - touch your fingers to your thumb, shakiness, start of a migraine, still walking funny, light headed feeling, memory tests and speech problems and following a pencil - I failed. This is finally making the Dr worried enough that he is finally ordering an MRI. Charles has cancelled his trip to Indiana to an awesome auction with tractors so that he can take me to get my MRI.

I am sure I won't know the results for awhile but I hope that they find nothing or something.

Izzy got bumped up to JV and so she is fighting a head cold and playing Libaro for JV tonight at Holton. Go Falcons!

Vertigo and Back to School!

No pictures as I haven't been real good about taking any lately. Sorry kids. I got Pedro on her first day of school. Izzy I didn't get any of because I am still being chauffered to work and she just wasn't up that darn early!

I am still having some problems with the vertigo. I am not dizzy anymore but I am still having trouble controlling my balance and I feel like I am walking around in a bubble. Things are there -but they aren't there. I don't know how to explain it but it is very frustrating. They had cleared me to drive but when I do - it drives me bonkers. Almost like driving through a tunnel that keeps getting smaller and smaller - like I am playing one of those race car driver games.

When the dizziness stopped I started getting headaches. I am not sure why I didn't have headaches with the vertigo.

Going for a checkup today to see if anything can be done or if we can move ahead and have some more tests done I would suppose.

On a good note - Our Tractor show had 104 tractors and there was a write up of a whole page in our weekly wipe of a newspaper which has taken another jump in price with more ads than ever. Bad note of that - I didn't take a whole lotta pictures this year.

Benign Paroxsymal Positional Vertigo

Benign Paroxsymal Positional Vertigo BPPV is the official diagnosis. I have had this since last Friday and I am going insane. I can't drive, I can hardly eat, my back is killing me from sleeping in a 45 degree angle on the couch and only two have gone to the ER, a regular doctor, and a physical therapist. Next stop a neurologist. Possibly surgery if this doesn't reverse myself. The worst is that I am using sick leave and then will loose my vacation time and then my long term and once that is gone I could lose my job.

Vacation

I should have explained the photos. We took off from our house two weeks ago this coming Friday for a trip to South Dakota, North Dakota, Wyoming and Montana. Did we see and do everything - you betcha! We had a great time, attitudes were in check for most of the trip, and we made it home without getting stopped by the DOT. Some highlights of the trip were Mammoth Springs in Hot Springs, Crazy Horse in the rain, Bear Country USA, Mt Rushmore, Needles Highway, Full Throttle Saloon in Sturgis, Devil's Tower in Wyoming, and a tractor auction in Montana. 2800 miles later were arrived home Sunday night after driving over 800 miles from Dickinson ND on Sunday! Glad to be home, the kids are enrolled in school and I am back to work on Thurs.

Check This Out!

We are still battling snakes and this is what happened in our yard today. Avery had a field day with it after Charles almost stepped on it. This was in almost the same exact spot the girls encountered one

Izzy received an email notice that she received an award for turning in her Prom Photos of her in her dress from the company's maker and is featured on their web page!

Pedro's 11th Birthday

Pedro celebrated her birthday this past weekend. We took her out to eat at Carlos O'Kelly's - her choice since it was all about the ice cream covered in honey and corn flakes! We had softball practice that evening - 5 hours worth - so we came hom after practice and did presents and cake! Notice her signature colors - Lime Green and Turqouise! We gave her the movie Alice in Wonderland and she got an itunes gift card and a bubble machine from Diddie and Big Boy! That has been a lot of fun! Tonight we have a softball game in Abilene for Pedro.

Since Pedro had a game the night of her birthday and Diddie had a game also but in a different town - we split ways - Charles stayed with Pedro and
Big Boy and I went to JC with Diddie! Pedro got to pitch in her game - she is learning quickly and getting lessons from a coach on "how to" get er done! Diddie this year is pitching for her 18u team and it is a great learning tool for her. She gets very tired by the end of the game but Monday night had 5 strike outs, 1 pop fly she caught, and short stuff did a vertical jump and caught a ball headed for center field - man I wish I had it on camera - White Girls Can Jump! They won their game 8 to 6.

Brian's Graduation

Two postesesses in one day - Wowza - Look Out!

This weekend Izzy's BF graduated from Blue Valley High School. He will be attending Emporia KS Flint Hills Technical School for Culinary Arts. I can't wait to be a guinea pig and eat some of his cooking. We are very proud of him!

From the pic you can see it was a hot and windy day. Pedro is growing so tall and is almost Izzy's size! I can't wait to see what the next year brings for everyone!

Softball Softball Softball!

Can't wait - Izzy helped get her team to the 2nd round of regionals by stepping up and pitching from the 3rd inning on Last Monday. We then played 2nd round of Regionals Tues and won so turned around 20 mins later and played another game and won that one. Izzy relief pitched in the bottom of the 6th Inning. We couldn't be prouder! This is a First for RCHS - first ever time getting Regional Champs!

This Friday night Riley County will be playing Medicine Lodge at Annenberg Park in Manhattan, KS at 5 pm for the first round of State Play. If they win that game they will then play Saturday! We are Stoked.

In the same time Pedro starts her Dickinson County League play This Thursday in Chapman and then has tournament play in Clay Center for the Rebels On Monday- followed by another game Monday Night in Riley for the Dickinson County League.

Softball

Tonight is the last Home Game for RCHS Softball. We are Very Proud of Izzy - Stepping up to pitch Varsity Games. This summer we weren't going to do any softball - now she is helping coach 14u team, and is pitching for an 18u team, and Pedro is now on two teams also - Her first games are this coming weekend in Abilene. Pitching for one team and third base and Catching for her regular league teams.

SO much for a subtle quiet summer. Honestly - I don't know what we would have done though if we weren't lucky enough to have both girls playing.

My Life Before My Eyes

Tonight on the way home I was in an almost near death accident. Somehow I managed to escape unscathed. Two women in an SUV were not watching, almost rear ended me, and ended up rolling in the ditch. They had to use Jaws of Life to get them out, they had a little dog with them - that was pretty shook up. I was just mentally unprepared for all of that on today.

Canadian Mist has helped settle the nerves.

busy weeks ahead

Well - last week was busy - 2 varsity softball games - Izzy relief pitched Thurs at Riley and did an outstanding job. Coach called late after the game - #1 to check on his pitcher, #2 to congratulate us - the parents on a fine outstanding job Izzy did, #3 to make sure his new Varsity Pitcher had Ibu for pain, ice to help the hurt, a good meal before bed, Gatorade to rehydrate, and to say that Izzy found her Moxy!

This weekend was a whirlwind of events. Charles was gone to an auction and got an oil bath - not pleasant he said. We were gone shopping - I rented a Rugdr and cleaned carpets, we had crab legs, we fished, we laughed, Izzy attended a party for Big Boy in Manhattan for his class and we rounded out the evening with softball practice for Pedro! Whew!

Today - Softball at Silver Lake - game time has been moved up to 3:30 due to #1 no lights at their complex and #2 - they were predicting storms.

To round out our week - Wed Pedro has pitching practice, Thurs Diddie gets spray tanned for Prom, Friday I hope to have a relaxing evening at home. Saturday is prom - so another day of being gone from home for about 5 hours while hair, nails and make up get done, a tux gets picked up, a dress put on, a candlelit dinner prepared, and promenade at BVMS at 7:30. Did I get it all in there? Oh Wait - Big Boy had a track meet also last Thurs and set personal best in his shot put and mile and today he has a track meet at Belleville.

Charles needed to spray yesterday but a bearing is out and somewhere in a mix up of communication parts did NOT get ordered. Charles' trailer is still in his shop tore down - something with brake lines now leaking. Have a great week!

softball

This week Izzy got to pitch in the Varsity game - Very exciting - very nervewracking. She did awesome - she only allowed one run - her defense did a great job of backing her up and getting the outs they needed to. She is also the DP - for a good reason - she doesn't complain about it. She loves to go out and hit the ball - and the coaches love that she loves to do that job without complaint!

Easter 2010

Easter was fun this year. Big Boy came along to Gma and Gpa's. It was so ding dang HOT out that my kids decided to make it informal.

Our weekend

Our weekend started out by heading Friday night to BV play "Lagooned" which was funny. Sat we spent doing laundry and going shopping for softball gear.

Sunday - we watched Diddie pitch a softball game at Riley. She got picked to be on the Alumni Softball team. It was a beautiful day for softball!

Diddie turned 16

Our oldest baby turned into a sweet 16 princess this past Sunday. We started partying Friday night by hosting her and some of her friends at the Union Bowling Alley at KSU. We shut the place down, there was a snow storm that caused icy roads, but we all had a lot of fun. SO the pic is of her and her cake she picked out that she wanted.

Saturday night she went to Big Boy's house and had supper and watched New Moon with his family. I think she is bummed that we won't let her go on date's just yet - but I don't think it will be long before we finally let her go.

Sunday we had family over and her choice of menu was steak on grill, cheesy hashbrown casserole, saucy carrots, and of course - strawberry jello cake.

16 more days

Till Diddie turns the Sweet 16. No big plans - she doesn't want anything special.

for whatever stupid reason the pics didn't load with my previous post.

Get in the Game!

See this big boy- #35 - he is "The Fridge" AKA Izzy BF! Last night he had the game of his life - only problem - we didn't get to see it. For about three weeks now we have all been combating some kind of sinus flu coughing symptoms. Yesterday we all went to the dr and we all have severe sinus infections - SO last night we didn't go to his home game - we stayed home and all took Nyquil and got rest. This morning we wake up to voicemails from The Fridge stating he had the game of his life - he is pumped - he scored 19 points and got 3 charges - making him the league leader in charges! At 6'1 and 230 that is a big accomplishment!

On the other hand you see the picture of Izzy? Yeah - that is her - Prego - 7 months! Gotcha! Not Really - she did this for her Parenting class. She got to stap on the belly from 8 am to 8 pm and wear it around the school. Harassed a lot by classmates - you bet! It definitely has been a learning curve for her and she has made a "swear" to not give us grandbabies till she is at least 30 I think!~

Pedro is taking Pitching lessons and doing fab - and she is loving it. Guitar lessons will be thrown in the mix soon and she is also doing basketball.

Charles has his shop done and his crane up and his hoist going. He has been busy tearing down a few tractors and he has some auctions lined up.

How we spend our time!

We are spending a lot of time going to watch #35 in the white uniform. Brian has had some great playing time. We are listening to his game tonight in the Twin Valley League tournament on the local radio station KCLY 100.9 He has lots of home games coming up in a couple of weeks - so that will be filling our time.

Izzy is practicing Pitching on Sundays and Pedro has even started doing Pitching and catching on Sundays along with her. Softball for HS starts March 1st.

Charles has been working on his shop - the new floor is in and he is working on making a crane in his shop - which will probably list 2 ton when it is done! and of course snow mover - lots and lots of snow - and now it is melting - so now we have mud - lots and lots of mud.

Me - still working in Audit Services this week and then I will probably be back to working full time front desk receptionist duties again next week.
