About Us

We are the Dugan's from Leonardville. We farm, collect antique tractors, E-Bay tractor parts, watching our girls grow like broadleaf weeds without 2-4-d ever having been applied. Our summers are filled with softball, tractor shows, tractor auctions - do you see a theme - We Are BUSY! I try to update as much as I can but there are just sometimes -well - I am busy. Welcome to a little glimpse of our world.

Weekly Wipe Up

Soooo - as I have posted we have a couple of great groups of friends around us. Each from their own dare I say it - Clicks! One is a great group of tractor friends and the other a great group of Softball players and parents.

Saturday night we had a get together since our tournaments were once again cancelled. Not everybody could attend due to prior engagements and such - but we had a blast. I felt wore out after cleaning house for two weeks solid - but my house is clean and my girls and I accomplished it together. We had a mexican feast complete with queso, guacamole, homemade salsa, tacos of beef, pork and chicken, and fruit salad and other good stuffs. Lots of good drinks were flowing - the margaritas and the virgin daquiris for the kids were a hit! The kids played on the gocarts till the storm moved in.

A few of our tractor friends at the lake mosied up when the storm moved in. I am still trying to decide if they are a good mix - but you know what - they are all our friends and if one of the group doesn't like the other there is always the option of moving to another spot away from the other. Just like TV - don't like what you see or hear - move the channel along to a different one.

On a different note - we are heading back to Dodge this weekend for the Super C National Tournament. Kimmy will be pitching some. More than Likely Charles will be starting wheat harvest on Wed this week so he will not be able to attend. He thinks if the weather and combine would hold for a good 5 to 7 days he could be done. With the 100 heat at 110 heat index we have had the wheat had ripened and changed color quickly. The heads are drooping - so it is close to the time. Pedro more than likely will stay home this trip.

Charles' birthday is also tomorrow -the big 42. I can't believe it when we look back at pictures of when Kimmy was born - it seems so long ago - yet just like yesterday - except with more hair! LOL

Have a great week!

What's Happenin with the Dugan's?

The past two weeks have been filled with lots of softball, volleyball, a golf tournament, planting beans, more softball with rain, and work and anniversaries.

Our team made a group decision to forgo a tournament to help raise money at a golf tournament for a father of a fellow school softball player. I forgot the SPF 80 and Pedro and I now look like Bozo the clown! Yeah for us! - NOT!

I took Pedro to Softball in Abilene Monday night and 25 mins into the game - lightning, thunder, and a rain storm moved in. No rain delay there.

Izzy has softball practice and pitching practice in the mornings when the field conditions are OK to be on the field. Love you Coach Al for all of the time and effort you put in! We can never say Thank You enough!

Last night was Volleyball for Izzy in Manhappiness -this is happening every Tues night. I have pics - but with the weather being so bad I just haven't had time to download them.

Yesterday was the 30th anniversary of me being diagnosed with Diabetes. Wow - is all I can say. I showed them maybe?

Thurs is my Birthday. Birthdays used to be a big deal to me - but then my husband decided birthdays aren't a big deal and my birthday got forgotten my family members - esp on Father's day - so I give up - no more birthdays and I wallow in Self Pity. Suck it up Beth! Just another day. Oh wait - no it isn't - Pedro has a game in Riley and I am working Concession stand and have to bring drinks an snacks! Guess I know what I am doing today over lunch hour.

On another fun note - with all of the storms through Manhattan we have lost more trees and limbs here at AIB, some people had their houses hit by lightnin, some people are still without electricity - and every day I have walked into an office that starts out at 78 degrees and works its way to 83 and then finally cools down about noontime. Can we say limp noodles - not to mention what it Doesn't do for our hair!

Izzy is supposed to play in a tournament in Emporia this weekend but there are parents ane kids that don't want to play since it is Father's day. As Charles says - it is just another day - and nothing makes me happier than being with them any weekend - not just holidays - seeing them play and do what they love!

Next Tuesday is Charles' Birthday - nothing special planned - we will be in Manhattan again for Volleyball! Maybe I can sneak him out to La Fiesta for a Margarita!

Add'l comment for pic previously

There is a picture of a child in purple being catcher. Yeup - that is Pedro. Knowing how we are NOT KSU fans - and their team name is - you guessed it - KATZ! Every time she puts the uniform on she does a big sigh and a "Geez - why do I have to wear purple! I don't like this color!" Hmmm we have successfully brainwashed the family. She started catching for her team a week and a half ago and she is loving it. She is doing a great job and with our 60 x 80 shed we have now and an alleyway specifically set up for pitching for Lil' Kim and a 2nd base at the one end and home plate at the end of the other we can also work on catching - no matter what the weather is.

Pedro's Birthday

Our little baby girl turned 10 on this past Sunday. We were spending the weekend in Dodge City for Lil' Kim to have Softball. We had a party Sat night at the Super 8. Fun Times! She had a great birthday surprise at Casa Alvares - A Strawberry something another that was delish - if she wore the big floppy hat - which she happily Did! Monday might at her softball game Coach Al was announcing the game and let everyone know it had been her Birthday! She loved it! Here are some pics from the past weekend's events! Izzy had a batting average of over 500! Fantastic! Here is a pic of a funny cartoon I also found that is fitting for softball season! We took the Buick to Dodge - I love that car!
